What is the Nelson Institute Forum (NIF)?
We're a registered student organization formed for the purpose of presenting discussions and student research intended to foster discussion in the environmental community on campus. The NIF is based in the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is coordinated by graduate students in the Institute.

MEG / Nelson Institute Forum Potluck Dinner
Wednesday, March 29th, 6:00-8:00 pm, Pres Hall (see map below)
Every spring and fall the Madison Ecology Group works with volunteers from a department on campus to host a informal potluck dinner with brief presentations from graduate students on their research. The potlucks are for graduate students only and are intended to provide a relaxed social setting for student ecologists on campus to get together, visit, and share ideas. The potlucks have been held at the UW-Arboretum's McKay Visitor Center, and have been organized in the past by graduate students in the Institute for Environmental Studies, and from the Limnology, Wildlife Ecology, Forestry, Botany, and Geography departments. As in the past, we will be featuring 5-6 graduate student speakers who will share their research experiences. The Nelson Institute Forum is co-sponsoring this event.
